Post Office
So I work with a boy, and he's the cutest thing around. He's allowed me to really understand many aspects children and special needs, assuming I've never really had to deal with children in that nature. Colin is one in a million. He understands moods and feelings, and is truly sensitive to compassion, which is usually an aspect that is lacked of in autism. This can be awesome and sometimes really funny as well. Children grow, they learn, sometimes blurb out things when you don't want them to. This is especially true when he knows body parts. So let me get to it:
We were at a post office, waiting patiently in line to get an envelope weighed and mailed off, and as curious as he is, Colin edges himself to the counter before we were called. He loves to get to know people, no matter the circumstance. He leans up to the counter, nicely asking Laura what she was doing. She said "just working." Without hesitation Colin then replies with "i want a nipple sandwich" followed with dropping a major air-bomb. Now remember, I'm still in line, not wanting to lose my spot, but continually asking him to come back with me in line. Let's just say that the crowd around me didn't think it was the most humorous thing they'd ever come faced with, but I just laughed and was grateful for another day full of air-bombs and the word nipple.
